Of course Zach volunteered to be in the costume. A very memorable concept, I now have an irremovable, made-up fact about 10% active females being attracted to men in furry costumes that will probably surface at an inopportune moment. Well, I hope the fact is made up?

I recently spoke with Brenda Riney who’s directing digital and shopper marketing at Central Pet and Garden about mobile and she thinks mobile advertising is quickly becoming one of the best ways to engage and connect with customers. I miss the IQers! Great article Gabi.

Hi Neb! Glad you liked the post and I’m happy to hear you’ve also had success with these methods. It was really new to me, even though I’ve been in UX a while. I’ve been really impressed with the work I’ve seen from others with this method. I’m anxious to try it again with new activities.

Fun to read your post! My practice is 90% participatory design and/or collaborative process. Drawings and words on paper that you can spatially arrange is a powerful game/worktool. Physical warmups that force crossing left/right brain sides (eg throwing a ball of paper between your 2 hands) and working in small groups with short 10 min deadlines are worth experimenting with too! I look forward to reading how you go more.

Thanks Jen! We had fun sketching out the cards and thinking up new cards. It definitely made the activity seem more playful than serious, which I think helped put the participants at ease.
